For those living in the city of Pembroke Pines, the approach of Christmas is going to bring more than just festivities and holiday cheer. According to an update from the city's official website, an important notice for residents to keep in mind amidst the yuletide celebrations: There will be no garbage or bulk trash service on Christmas Day, Wednesday, December 25. For those who were expecting to drag their refuse to the curb, you'll need to hold off just a bit longer. The website states, "Residents who do not receive garbage service on Christmas Day should place their carts out for pick up on the resident’s next regularly scheduled pick up day."
Residents in Bulk Zone 11 should note that bulk trash collection has been rescheduled due to Christmas Day falling on the regular pickup day. As announced by Pembroke Pines, trash should be put out on December 30, with a slight delay in service, to clear away post-holiday waste.
The city assures residents that New Year's celebrations won't disrupt regular trash collection. The arrival of 2025 will not affect disposal services. "There will be no change to the garbage or bulk pickup schedule for New Year’s Day- 1/1/2025," the city's update confirms.
