An official statement posted by the San Mateo County District Attorney asserts that Juan Antonio Garcia has been charged with homicide, alongside special allegations, after allegedly slaying his wife on Sunday. Garcia, who is being held at the Maguire Correctional Facility, remains in custody without the possibility of release on bail, as per the San Mateo County District Attorney.

Further details surfaced as Hoodline reported on the incident. The Redwood City Police Department received a distressing call around 10:45 p.m. from Garcia, who claimed he had committed the crime in their residence on the 900 block of 7th Avenue. Upon arrival, the RCPD discovered horrendous scenes with the victim bearing multiple stab wounds. Despite the life-saving attempts of the Redwood City Fire Department and AMR medics, the woman's injuries were too severe, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have since secured the murder weapon and assured the public that there is no further threat following the incident. As the investigation continues, the Redwood City detectives spearhead the case with support from the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office and neighboring law enforcement agencies. Any surrounding witnesses who were at the home during the time of the incident have been accounted for by the Menlo Park Police Department and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation is far from closed, with detectives pushing forward for clues and testimonies.
