Initial reports stated that the shooting broke out following a confrontation in the basement of the home where attendees were marking a birthday celebration. Chicago police have disclosed that four men and four women were wounded on that fateful afternoon, per details obtained by the Chicago Sun-Times.
Those pronounced dead were Jon Carlos Blancarcer, aged 28, Osmer Angel Ferrer Oria, 32, and Hector M. Sajo, 26. Witnesses have recounted the event spiraling into chaos when a fight broke out and gunshots echoed shortly thereafter. According to the authorities, the assailants may have attempted a getaway in a green Subaru, leaving a gun box behind before fleeing on foot, as evidenced by a police report mentioned by the Chicago Sun-Times.
