Before joining the city's team, Godshall made a name for himself at Frazier & Deeter LLC, where from 2005 to 2023 he held various leadership posts, including the head of the Assurance Services Group. His experience is broad, covering areas such as public company audit practice and the Manufacturing and Distribution Industry Group. Godshall's track record is solidified by his previous work at prestigious organizations like the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, Deloitte, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

A graduate of the University of New Orleans, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Godshall also graduated with distinction from the Harvard Business Analytics Program. His counselling of both public and private organizations on matters such as financial transactions, IPO readiness, and governance enhancements has been characterized by integrity and innovative thinking. With Godshall's appointment, the City of Roswell aims to bolster its dedication to financial transparency, accountability, and promoting innovation within the community.
