
A Salt Lake City police officer has been arrested and booked into Utah County Jail following allegations of a sexual assault occurring in American Fork. Officer Zander Nunley, 26, faces multiple charges including Object Rape, Aggravated Assault Strangulation, Forcible Sodomy, and Forcible Sexual Abuse, as reported by FOX 13.
The incident reportedly took place over the weekend, the victim claims she was assaulted after being invited to Nunley's home to watch a religious program. The assault included strangulation and left bruises, as detailed by KSL Newsradio. Following the arrest, Nunley was placed on paid administrative leave by the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD).
"The allegations in this case are serious and conflict with our core values," SLCPD said, as per KUTV, emphasizing the department's swift action in response to the arrest.
The American Fork Police Department conducted the arrest of Nunley. The SLCPD made it clear that such conduct stands in stark opposition to the standards and ethics they uphold.
