
A somber air has settled over the Oak Park neighborhood following the shooting death of a 49-year-old black man at an independent living facility. The San Diego Police Department Southeastern Division received a distress call regarding the incident last Saturday, around 10:24 p.m., prompting officers to quickly attend to the scene at 3133 54th Street, as reported by the City of San Diego's official website.
Upon arrival, law enforcement agents hastily worked to provide aid, administering CPR to the victim—later identified as Dennis Robinson of San Diego. Despite their efforts to quickly stabilize and transport him to the hospital, Robinson did not survive the gunshot wound to his torso. The incident was reported to have occurred in a setting where at least nine other individuals were supposedly within the facility, and the police are now trying to interview each one carefully, according to the City of San Diego's official website.
The investigation into this tragic occurrence is ongoing. Detectives are fervently combing through security footage and piecing together testimonies from those who were present.
