The San Francisco Police Department has made an arrest in the homicide case of Maxwell George Maltzman following an investigation that stretched nearly a year. According to the San Francisco Police Department's news release, Maltzman, who was reported missing on January 6, 2023, was found deceased in the Bayview District on January 23, 2023. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, alongside SFPD's Homicide Detail, determined that Maltzman's death was a homicide.

After painstaking efforts to gather evidence and determine the suspect's identity, SFPD investigators developed probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant. Last Friday, at approximately 8:22 a.m., the Tactical Unit located and arrested a 19-year-old male from San Francisco on the unit block of Ahern Way. The suspect's residence was also searched, leading to the seizure of further evidence not disclosed to the public.

The young man, whose identity has not been publicly shared, was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on charges of Homicide (187(a) PC) and Conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC).
