San Francisco Police Department is actively investigating a homicide that occurred in the Bayview District last Friday night. According to a statement on the SFPD website, officers were called to the unit block of Gould Street after a report of a shooting around 9:41 p.m.
Upon their arrival, authorities discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound. "Officers rendered aid, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)," the SFPD statement reads. Paramedics were summoned to the scene, but despite the combined efforts of the first responders, the victim was pronounced dead on the spot.
The SFPD Homicide Detail has taken charge of the ongoing investigation, following up on leads to apprehend the person or persons responsible. Currently, no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting. The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.
