An incident at a local fast food joint turned serious when a mother, enraged over an incomplete order, threatened staff with violence. The San Pablo Police Department responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call from an employee at the restaurant. According to a social media update by the police department, the mother's children initially went inside to address the missing fries on her behalf.
The situation escalated when the mother entered the restaurant, claiming to have a gun and threatening the employees. This led to the police being notified by the concerned fast food staff. The officers arrived and conversed with the woman, who confirmed that there was indeed a loaded pistol in her purse, which at the time was in the possession of her 9-year-old daughter. The child subsequently handed the purse to the officers, who were able to secure the firearm safely.
The mother was arrested on several felony charges, including criminal threats with a firearm and child endangerment. The children were collected from the scene by their father following the incident.
