A Canyons School District bus driver is facing charges after being arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography, an investigation revealed disturbing materials, including evidence of bus drivers engaging in sexual activities with children. Val Whitehead, 69, identified by the district as a driver who served routes for two middle schools, and a grade school was placed on paid administrative leave as reported by FOX 13.

During the investigation, authorities found that Whitehead's laptop, located in a shed where he reportedly spent most of his time, contained "several things relating to child erotica," the affidavit described, and encrypted videos believed to be child pornography were discovered, which included chilling content of "videos of bus drivers having sexual relations with children," according to KSL.

Despite the grave nature of the allegations, court records indicate that Whitehead was released from custody under certain conditions such as showing up for all required court appearances and participation in a weekly automated phone check-in, as detailed by ABC4.
