The search for a missing Alabama woman ended in tragedy after she was found dead in her vehicle in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that 62-year-old Ann Kipp, a delivery driver from Decatur, AL, was discovered Thursday in her car parked along the 7900 block of US 31 S, according to FOX59.
Ann Theresa Kipp had not been seen for weeks before her body was located. The Decatur Police Department had appealed to the public for help after she was declared missing on November 3. The department revealed, Kipp worked as a subcontracted driver for RXO and frequently made deliveries across the country. Although Kipp did not physically reside in Decatur, she maintained a mailing address in the city, WAAY TV reported.
Investigators found that the last communication with Kipp was on October 16, when she contacted her employer from Louisville, Kentucky, requesting time off due to illness. Subsequently, on October 20, her employer was unable to reach her and she was reported to be in Scottsburg, Indiana at the time. Kipp was driving a blue 2018 Ford Transit van with an RXO decal and had a Michigan license plate #8QDB91, detailed by the Decatur Police.
The discovery of Kipp brought a grim close to the extensive search efforts that lasted for over a month. Her body was found two months after she was last in contact with her employer. The Indianapolis Police Department is taking the lead on the investigation and, thus far, has uncovered no evidence of foul play in her death, WAFF reported. The situation remains under active investigation with further details yet to emerge.
