The search for 23-year-old Nathaniel Mueller of Pike County, Missouri continues as he remains missing since his last appearance on Dec. 20. Mueller was reported to have taken a walk in the woods that evening and has not been seen since. The First Alert 4 reports that Mueller's car was located the following afternoon near the intersection of State Routes C and E, with his belongings inside, suggesting an unanticipated departure from the vehicle.
After nearly a week, authorities and volunteers have actively searched the area, utilizing dogs, drones, and an aircraft provided by the Missouri Highway Patrol. His wallet and clothing, found in his car, raises concerns about his whereabouts during wintry conditions. According to the Muddy River News, Mueller's grandmother owns property about a mile and a half from where the car was found, an area he was known to enjoy walking.
Reports that Mueller may have consumed marijuana edibles prior to his disappearance have been circulating, with the Pike County Sheriff's Office indicating this could have impacted his perception. FOX 2 Now notes an important find during the search: a head cover and footprints in the area, believed to belong to Mueller, were uncovered on last Sunday. Yet, despite these clues and extensive searches, Mueller still hasn't been located.
The local community and law enforcement refuse to cease the efforts to find Mueller. The most recent search included specialized dogs covering over 100 acres of woodland and a dive team from the Missouri State Highway Patrol exploring a local pond. Despite these efforts, no new leads have emerged. The Pike County Sheriff’s Office, as mentioned in Muddy River News, does not suspect foul play at this juncture.
