The award, announced at UNESCO's headquarters in Paris on Monday, recognizes CITYPARK as a leader in modern stadium design, standing out in a field usually dominated by larger, wealthier venues.
According to the St. Louis City Soccer Club website, the Prix Versailles jury, organized by UNESCO, evaluates various categories of design, from commercial to cultural structures. St. Louis CITY SC's chief brand architect, Lee Broughton, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, "It is with a great sense of pride that we thank the Prix Versailles World Jury for this incredible honor and our talented partners, HOK and Snow Kreilich, for their exceptional work in designing CITYPARK to be a reflection of our city’s most beloved attributes."
Earlier this year, CITYPARK was recognized as one of the world’s most beautiful sports venues, leading to its Prix Versailles nomination. This global recognition highlights not only the stadium’s design but also St. Louis CITY SC's mission to raise both the club and the city to an international level.
