Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect following a robbery at 'Get Plugged', a convenience store located on the 2600 block of Cherokee Street. According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred last Friday, just after the morning had broken into day.
As per the initial investigation, the suspect—a male believed to be in his twenties—entered the store and feigned intent to purchase. It was when he came up to the clerk, that the situation took a perilous turn. He brandished a handgun, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded cigarettes and cash from the register. "The male suspect then left the store with the stolen items and took off," the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department outlined in their statement.
In an effort to solicit the public's assistance while preserving their anonymity, CrimeStoppers has been engaged. They are offering a cash reward for tips that directly lead to an arrest. Interested parties are encouraged to dial 866-371-TIPS (8477) or can submit their tips to a detective at 314-444-2500 if they possess information that could aid in the resolution of this case.
The suspect's identity and whereabouts are yet unaccounted for. Community members with relevant information are therefore urged to come forward.
