St. Louis knows how to throw down a holiday feast – and that's exactly what happened at the 22nd Circuit Court's staff appreciation lunch last Friday. The Bootheel Boyz, a catering company owned by none other than St. Louis Sheriff's Deputy Terrell Perry, dished out an endless supply of comfort foods that could make any winter feel warmer. Deputy Perry, alongside his team, delivered on a promise of fried chicken, pasta, salads, casseroles, and meatballs to court staff, who have been powering through a not-so-bitter St. Louis winter.
According to an article published by the 22nd Circuit Court, the luncheon was not just about the food, but also about gratitude. Judges turned into servers, dishing out desserts and meals in a show of thanks for the tireless effort the court staff puts forth throughout the year. As the holiday cheer spread, those who hold the scales of justice during the year got to tip them in favor of a well-deserved break.
The festivities appeared to be a collaborative effort, with special acknowledgments going to Charlotte Strong, the secretary to the presiding judge, and Sheriff's Deputy Gary Jackson, the Division 1 bailiff, who were pivotal in coordinating this annual event. Demonstrating that appreciation can manifest in many ways – from a simple 'thank you' to a full-on feast – the 22nd Circuit ensured its staff felt valued during the holiday season.
Photos of the event, which offer a peek into the court's lighter side, were shared for public viewing. "Happy holidays to everyone and best wishes in the coming new year!" is the cheer shared by the court, extending its season's greetings beyond the courthouse walls, as per St. Louis Circuit Court.
