
A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Calumet Heights neighborhood of Chicago on Sunday evening. The shooting occurred in the 2300 block of East 93rd Street around 7:15 p.m., according to ABC7 Chicago. Police said the teenager suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The identity of the boy has not yet been released. As of now, no one is in custody in connection with the fatal shooting, and the investigation is ongoing by Area Two detectives. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain largely unknown.
In a separate report by the Chicago Sun-Times, it was noted that the victim was taken to Trinity Hospital following the shooting. Despite efforts to save him, the injury proved fatal.
