On Sunday afternoon, a routine day took a perilous turn on North Mt. Juliet Road, where a two-vehicle accident prompted emergency responses and temporary traffic adjustments. According to WSMV, the Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) indicated that the crash occurred when one driver attempted to navigate through a break in stopped traffic, guided by the wave of another, and subsequently collided with a car in the moving lane.
The aftermath left one vehicle overturned, which led to two individuals being extricated and rushed to a hospital. While the extent of their injuries was undisclosed, no serious injuries were reported. The distressing incident unfolded in the 200 block of North Mt. Juliet Road, and it fairly disrupted the flow of Sunday traffic, according to a statement obtained by WKRN. Officers were able to reopen the contested stretch of road before the close of the afternoon, easing the earlier congestion.
In an effort to handle the traffic situation arose from the collision, the MJPD took to social media, issuing an MJAlert that informed residents of the rollover crash's impact on traffic flow. As reported by WKRN, law enforcement managed alternating northbound and southbound traffic to alleviate some of the congestion, before declaring the road cleared and fully operational.

The MJPD didn't miss the opportunity to impart wisdom through their digital channels, after the roadways cleared. "Thank you to our officers for their quick response and efforts to manage traffic while three lanes of Mt. Juliet Rd were temporarily blocked," MJPD posted. "Let this serve as a reminder to always proceed cautiously and ensure all lanes are clear before crossing. Stay safe out there!," echoing a sentiment that resonates with a community shaken, by a reminder of the fragility that comes with every moment spent behind the wheel, as per social media update by MJPD.
