Gunfire erupted in the Near North Riverfront area, leading to a double shooting that has left two men hospitalized. The incident occurred yesterday, just before 5:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Cass, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Officers rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the Horseshoe Casino, where both victims sought refuge following the incident.
The victims, aged 40 and 30, were admitted to a local hospital in stable condition. Along with them, a 24-year-old man was discovered inside the casino, unharmed, and a 26-year-old woman arrived in a vehicle pierced by bullets at the parking lot. Fortunately, the woman escaped without physical injury. The preliminary investigation suggests that the group was involved in an alleged drug deal gone wrong, which ended with an unconfirmed number of suspects opening fire.
