Following a meticulous investigation into drug trafficking from California to Indianapolis, authorities have made two arrests. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) announced that 29-year-old Khalil Shelton was apprehended on charges related to narcotics dealing, as stated in a social media post. IMPD's information, shared by FOX59, detailed that the arrest occurred on Monday after over two months of investigation by the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF).

Investigators within the task force began tracking drug movement patterns in September, identifying a significant pipeline funneling narcotics from the West Coast to several homes on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The ICGTF compiled evidence indicative of Shelton's involvement, as reported by IMPD News in a Facebook post. Their efforts culminated in a multi-agency operation, including IMPD and Indiana State Police SWAT teams, to execute search warrants at the suspected locations. During a searches, a substantial quantity of drugs and firearms were seized from the premises, showcasing the depth of the trafficking network.

On Monday, law enforcement agents uncovered approximately 10 ounces of powder cocaine, about 10 pounds of marijuana, multiple pills presumed to be methamphetamine, 14 firearms with two reported as stolen, and $25,000 in cash. These findings were part of a public briefing shared by WTHR. Shelton and a second individual, 38-year-old Lucian McMillin, were apprehended at the locations, with McMillin facing charges for drug dealing and visiting a common nuisance.

The U.S. Attorney's Office and the Marion County Prosecutor's Office will deliberate on the final charging decisions, though the current accusations are strenuous. "An arrest and a charge are merely accusation, and all individuals should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law," reminded the ICGTF via the IMPD News Facebook post.
