A disturbing incident of sexual assault during a home invasion has shaken the West Rogers Park neighborhood on Chicago's North Side. According to CBS News, a 27-year-old woman was attacked early Thursday morning when a man forcibly entered her residence.
The assailant, who was armed with a knife, entered the woman's home in the 6200 block of North Bell Avenue around 2:50 a.m., threatening her life, and carried out the sexual assault. The man hinted that others may have been involved in the break-in, as per the victim's account. After the assault, he pilfered some of the woman's possessions and escaped through the same back door he reportedly used to enter the residence, as described by ABC 7 Chicago.
Details regarding the suspect remain sparse, the police are on the hunt for a man whose distinguishing feature is a tattoo on his face, concealed partially by a black mask during the crime. Chicago police have provided a height range for the suspect, indicating he is somewhere between 5'10" and 6'0" tall, with a medium build.
