
The Woodburn Police Department is seeking assistance from the public after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver last night. The incident, which claimed the life of an unnamed man, took place just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Highway and Williams Avenue, as KOIN reported.
Further details revealed by OregonLive include the involvement of a "light-colored SUV" which is believed to have hit the victim, identified as Hernandez-Mendoza, around 8:46 p.m., the vehicle was then seen turning right onto Williams Avenue and left onto Carol Street, immediately following the collision witnesses have stated that the SUV fled the scene, leaving behind only the shadow of urgency and fear. Authorities have yet to make an arrest or ascertain the identity of the driver behind this tragedy, as the community grapples with this sudden loss and plea for closure.
