After 25 years serving the Castro and Duboce Triangle, Jeffrey's Natural Pet Foods announced the closure of its shop at 284 Noe Street.
Jeffrey's shared the news with its customers in a newsletter on Wednesday.
The shop's last day will be January 25. Jeffrey's store in North Beach (1841 Powell) will remain open.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the end of our time at Jeffrey's Duboce Park," wrote owner Lynnet Spiegel and general manager Anna Thiel.

Jeffrey's opened at 284 Castro in 2013 after moving from 3809 18th Street, now Palmetto Superfoods.
"We, at Jeffrey’s, have been honored to serve the Castro for 25 years, from our first 10 years at the little shop on 18th St right next to Dolores Park (where Jeffrey used to make our food every morning in the window!) to the last 15 years at this beautiful, bright spot on Noe St," explained Spiegel and Thiel.
Spiegel and Thiel explained the closure is partly due to being unable to negotiate with their landlord.
"Despite several attempts at negotiation, we were unable to reach an agreement with our landlord that would allow us to continue operating at this location," they wrote.
"This corner of the neighborhood has been so much more than just a location — it has been our home, and you have been part of our family," added Spiegel and Thiel. "We've watched countless pets grow from wee pups and cuddly kittens into precious seniors in their golden years."
For over two decades, Jeffrey's has billed itself as "your premier resource for natural pet foods, healthy treats, locally produced goods, supplies, and information in the Bay Area."
Customers are invited to stop by before the shop closes "to share one last moment."

"We treasure the conversations, shared smiles, and lasting memories we've created together," said Spiegel and Thiel. "Through joyful moments of welcoming new family members to the difficult times of saying goodbye, Jeffrey's has reflected the love and spirit of our neighborhood."
"None of this would have been possible without you, our community, and we are deeply grateful for your support throughout this journey," they added.
Jeffrey's will continue to offer daily deliveries along with weekly or monthly subscriptions. Starting January 25, Jeffrey's will offer Duboce Triangle residents free delivery with code "Castro Family."
"From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives," said Spiegel and Thiel. "The Castro community will always be part of Jeffrey's and will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We hope we've been part of your stories too."
