A 60-year-old bicyclist is currently in critical condition following a hit-and-run collision in West Palm Beach on Saturday night. According to WPTV, the incident took place around 9 p.m. on the 1100 block of 45th Street near East Avenue.

The victim was discovered by a passing motorist, who then called 911 after spotting the unconscious man lying in the roadway. Arriving on the scene, West Palm Beach Fire Department paramedics rushed the injured man to St. Mary's Medical Center for treatment.

Investigations by the West Palm Beach Police Department (WPBPD) determined that the suspect's vehicle was heading east on 45th Street near the railroad crossing when the victim was hit from behind, as reported by CBS12. The force of the collision was such that the cyclist was thrown from the bike and catapulted forward, ending up partially on the sidewalk and road.

Detectives are asking the community for help in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist in critical condition.
