During a late-night drug investigation, Boston Police officers from the A-1 Drug Control Unit arrested 20-year-old D’Vente Vick of Boston on charges related to firearms and drugs. The incident unfolded near Franklin Street and Hawley Street, where officers observed a group of males. One individual was seen taking out an item and showing it to his companions, prompting the officers to intervene, suspecting a drug transaction. They stopped two of the men near Federal Court, where one man dropped a bag containing crack cocaine, according to a press release from the Boston Police Department.
The third individual, who had separated from the group, was stopped at 128 Tremont Street, where officers with the assistance of Detail Officers, detained and subsequently searched him, finding a plastic bag that held eight smaller bags and $215 in cash, as well as 78 individually wrapped bags of crack cocaine weighing a total of 44 grams.
In continuation of their search, the officers discovered a P80 firearm with seven rounds in its magazine, the firearm particularly concerning due to its missing serial number; Vick now faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, trafficking more than 36 grams but less than 100 grams of a Class B substance, and others, with arrangements to be made for his appearance in Boston Municipal Court.
