
On Monday, the Boston Police Human Trafficking Unit, along with the Massachusetts State Police High-Risk Victims Unit, took action against sexual exploitation. Their focus was on the Massachusetts Avenue and Melnea Cass Boulevard area, according to the Boston Police Department.
Detectives spotted an online advertisement indicating the sexual exploitation of a victim who had also been assaulted before. They contacted the number in the advertisement and set up a meeting. At 8:18 PM, they saw a car stop at 69 Boston Street, where the victim got into the front passenger seat before entering the location, as stated by the Boston Police Department.
Sacharis Gathers, a 20-year-old from Braintree, was arrested after officers found crack cocaine in his possession. He faces charges including trafficking, prostitution-related offenses, and drug possession. Gathers also has an outstanding warrant for auto law violations and is set to appear in court, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
