The Brentwood Police Department recently swore in four new officers, including Arshed "A.J." Aljaff, a former U.S. Military interpreter and member of the 101st Airborne Division. His journey took him from the streets of Baghdad to joining American law enforcement, according to the City of Brentwood.
Police Chief Richard Hickey introduced the new recruits at a City Commission ceremony, noting their diverse skills. Aljaff's background includes interpreting for the U.S. Military in Iraq and earning both a bachelor's and master's degree from Austin Peay State University. Hickey said, "Once he got here, he wanted to continue serving, so he enlisted in the U.S. Army," as reported by the City of Brentwood.
The Brentwood Police Department swore in four new officers: Joshua Love, a former U.S. Marine Corps Reservist; Lauren Marshall, a forensic biology graduate and top academy student from Mississippi; and Andrew Peterson, a former U.S. Navy special boat operator and Texas police officer. Their backgrounds and skills add to the department's capabilities, as stated by the City of Brentwood.
