In an effort to address the issue of overcrowded shelters, Casa Grande Animal Care and Adoption Center is teaming up with Best Friends Animal Society to host a free dog adoption event. From Monday, January 13 through January 25, dog lovers can adopt a new best friend without paying the usual fees. The initiative comes at a critical time as the shelter is full to the brim, particularly with larger dogs, as per the City of Casa Grande's press release.

During the event, the Animal Control Supervisor, Cerise Shanafelt, expressed the urgency of the situation, stating "We have a variety of wonderful dogs, from different breeds and personalities, ready to find their forever homes." With the shelter located at 202 E. First Avenue in Casa Grande, potential adopters can visit Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturdays by appointment only, as detailed by the city's official website.
