A Chicago firefighter was critically injured during a blaze at a warehouse in Gage Park on the Southwest Side early Friday morning. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the incident occurred around 7:10 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Kedzie Avenue. Firefighters were able to quickly suppress the fire, declaring it extinguished by 8:35 a.m. The firefighter, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
Despite the severity of the situation, the firefighter's condition was reported to have stabilized, and the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
