
Chicago resident Cortez Savage, 23, has been charged following an armed robbery and attempted robbery incident, as reported by the Chicago Police Department. Savage was arrested from the 700 block of E. 72nd St. The alleged crimes occurred late last year, but Savage was arrested only yesterday in the same neighborhood.
According to the official release by the Chicago Police Department, the incident took place on November 26, 2024, when Savage purportedly robbed a 37-year-old female and attempted to rob another 40-year-old female at gunpoint. These occurrences took place in the 1000 block of E. 40th Pl., falling within the 2nd District.
In addition to the robbery charges, Savage faces misdemeanors for driving on a suspended license, cancelled, revoked, or suspended registration, along with a citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The detention hearing for the accused is scheduled for January 15, 2025, at the courthouse on 2600 S. California. The charges include one felony count of armed robbery, one felony count of attempted armed robbery, and related traffic misdemeanors.
