The Chicago Police Department has released a community alert for an aggravated battery incident that occurred in West Loop's Fulton Market District. According to the official CPD website, the altercation took place on December 15, 2024, around 8:30 p.m. on the 200 block of N. Peoria St.
Reports indicate that the conflict escalated when the subject, after a verbal encounter, assaulted a male victim. Serious injuries were inflicted, with the victim sustaining notable damage to his eye, found punching and kicking the victim while on the ground, thus requiring transport to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Authorities are on the lookout for a Male White Hispanic, who falls in the age range of approximately 20 to 35 years. He is described as standing between 5'08" and 5'11", and weighing between 170-200 pounds. At the time of the incident, the suspect was seen in a tan-colored hoodie, over a white t-shirt, dark pants, and white with black shoes. He also has dark short hair, a mustache, and a beard.
Local residents and visitors to the area are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity by dialing 9-1-1 immediately. Pursuing a fleeing assailant is cautioned against; instead, witnesses or bystanders should focus on providing information to law enforcement.
