The auction block at WestWorld of Scottsdale has been the scene of some significant wheeling and dealing this past week as Barrett-Jackson's annual Scottsdale Auction hit the ground running from January 18 up to last Sunday. Highlighting the fifth day of this automotive frenzy, a 1981 Land Rover Series 3 was snatched up for a substantial sum of $438,900, earning the title of Friday's top-selling car. Following not too far behind was a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette Custom Coupe that found a new home for $418,000 and a 1970 Ford Mustang 428 CJ Convertible that drove away at $396,000. Other top sellers included a 1964 Lincoln Continental Custom Convertible and a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS, both coming in at $330,000 each, as ABC15 reported.

Craig Jackson, CEO of Barrett-Jackson, wasting no time after the company's previous Scottsdale Fall Auction, led preparations for what has proven to be an even more anticipation-inducing event. According to a statement obtained by Barrett-Jackson, Jackson highlighted the event's diversity with a docket full of some of the most coveted collectible vehicles in the world. While the company looked forward to the January auction, the Family Day kicked off the week on January 18 with free admission for kids 12 and under, complemented by STEM-focused activities and the Barrett-Jackson Cup Competition, which featured a parade of 50 competing vehicles.

Enthusiasts and collectors had the opportunity to bid on a wide range of vehicles, including two custom Chevrolet Corvettes and a rare 2019 Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake, one of only 99 built globally. This particular Aston Martin, as announced by Barrett-Jackson, is even more unique, being one of a mere 11 located in the U.S., and was offered without reserve. Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson, expressed the company's excitement, sharing that they would ring in 2025 the Barrett-Jackson way, promising a plethora of vehicles to suit any collector's taste and thrilling rides featuring the latest automotive offerings.

Those registered as premium package bidders or consignors received exclusive invitations to the highly coveted Opening Night Gala on January 19. As the week unfolded, the auction brought together car enthusiasts to live out their automotive dreams, backed by the sterling reputation of Barrett-Jackson as the pinnacle of car auction experiences. To become a part of the Barrett-Jackson conversation, participants could join in using the hashtags #BarrettJackson and #BJAC across prominent social media platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube, as the company urged.
