A 43-year-old convicted felon is now detained following identification by the Specialized Investigations Division as the shooter in an incident that occurred last October on Delta Avenue. The suspect, Tarell Lewis, is accused of firing at a man during an altercation, which ensued after a disagreement with the victim's girlfriend, as stated by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

According to a report from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the argument escalated when the 32-year-old victim attempted to intervene, resulting in Lewis shooting from his vehicle at them while fleeing the scene. The bullets struck the victim in the ankle, after which he was transported to General Hospital by the girlfriend who was present during the shooting.

Lewis was arrested on Wednesday in Cheatham Place after detectives saw him involved in drug transactions. Officers found marijuana in his vehicle and on him. He now faces charges including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, felony drug possession, and illegal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. His bond has been set at $157,500, as reported by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
