The Town of Davie is gearing up to celebrate its storied citrus heritage with the 88th Annual Orange Blossom Festival, Parade and Rodeo, happening Feb. 21 through Feb. 23. According to a town announcement, residents and visitors alike can look forward to a lineup of events that include everything from live music and a parade to arts, crafts, and a rodeo.
The festivities will kick off on Friday, Feb. 21, with the Orange Blossom Kick-off Concert featuring Southern Blood. The concert, part of the Sounds of the Town series, will be held at the Bamford Sports Complex from 6 to 9 p.m. As per official details, attendees are encouraged to "bring lawn chairs and blankets and arrive early to secure their spots" and enjoy the smorgasbord of food trucks and vendor booths as the gates open at 6 p.m.
Saturday brings the main event with the Orange Blossom Parade stepping off at 10 a.m. sharp. This year, the theme is "100 Years of Trailblazing," nodding to the Town of Davie’s Centennial Celebration. Following the parade, festival-goers can immerse themselves in a wealth of activities ranging from kids' rides and a petting farm to a strawberry shortcake festival and a 4H farmers market. Live entertainment for the day includes performers like Retro Sky and Jay Valor who will grace the Seminole Classic Casino Stage.
Sunday's agenda, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., continues the revelry with more performances and live music, this time featuring the Samantha Russell Band and Shane Duncan Band. The local talent will not disappoint, with groups like Encore Dance Studio and SunDanz expected to take to the stage. Concluding the weekend's events will be the Orange Blossom Rodeo at Bergeron Rodeo Grounds. Rodeo enthusiasts can snag their tickets ahead of time at Davie Pro Rodeo's website.
For those planning to attend, free parking will be available at Bamford Sports Complex for the concert, parade, and festival. Alternatively, a $5 cash-only fee per vehicle will grant access to parking at the rodeo grounds. Please note that pets and coolers are not permitted at the park.
