Shamiah Velney, the landlord whose Dorchester home was the recipient of this misfortune, likened the event to being "struck by lightning twice," indicating the sheer improbability and shock of experiencing such an incident again after replacing the porch three years earlier. The previous porch had met a similar fate, destroyed by another vehicular accident. Despite no injuries being reported, concern lingers regarding the structural integrity of Velney's home, compelling the residents to seek alternative accommodations. Moreover, by the early morning, towing services had already cleared the site of the car, reducing the visible evidence of the event to the home's compromised façade and supporting wooden beams, "Honestly, it just feels like my house has been struck by lightning twice," Velney told 7NEWS.

Tania Guity, another tenant of the building, expressed her concerns about the excessive number of accidents in the vicinity. "The driver looked like he was out of the car, and they were talking to him on the side," she said in a statement procured by 7NEWS. "This is a crazy intersection, so I’ve had my car hit a couple of times out here. My son’s had his car hit out here a couple of times. There’s been a lot of accidents. This intersection needs a stop sign or a light, something."
