Tragedy struck Chicago's Washington Park neighborhood on Tuesday evening when two men were fatally shot inside a residence. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Jeremiah Lee and Daquan Walters were in a home located on the 5300 block of South Wabash Avenue when an unidentified shooter opened fire around 6:35 p.m.
Victims of the violence, both Lee and Walters were subjected to multiple gunshot wounds. They were urgently transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, a desperate hope to quickly provide lifesaving care. Despite best efforts, both were pronounced dead upon arrival. Investigations into the shooting continue, with no suspects apprehended as of the latest updates.
CBS Chicago reported that the Wentworth Area detectives are actively investigating the case.
The motive behind the shooting has yet to be established, authorities have remained tirelessly at work to untangle the events leading up to the incident. No one was in custody, but efforts to track down any potential suspects or witnesses are ongoing.
