On a Monday night in Dover, New Hampshire, a traffic stop escalated into a high-speed chase. New Hampshire State Police tried to stop a black 2013 BMW 335xi for speeding at 95 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver fled, reaching speeds of 137 mph during the 15-minute pursuit, according to the New Hampshire State Police.
18-year-old Thomas C. Smart from Goshen, Connecticut, was arrested after local law enforcement used tire deflation tactics to stop his vehicle. The BMW went off the road and landed in a ditch. Smart was charged with felony reckless conduct, misdemeanor criminal mischief, and disobeying a police officer, as reported by the New Hampshire State Police.
Thomas C. Smart and his passenger were uninjured in a pursuit. The passenger has not been charged. Local police and fire departments responded to the situation. Anyone with information is urged to contact Trooper William Bohnenberger, as stated by the New Hampshire State Police.
