Evanilson Gomes, 38, from East Bridgewater, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly sending explicit messages to an underage girl on Snapchat. The arrest followed the issuance of an arrest warrant, according to WHDH.
The investigation started on October 31 when a school resource officer was alerted to obscene messages being sent to a student. Gomes is accused of communicating with the underage girl for several days through a messaging app, sending photos and videos that were of an obscene nature, even after he became aware of her age, the East Bridgewater Police Department statement mentioned, as WHDH detailed.
Gomes was arrested at his home for driving with a suspended license and is facing charges of enticing a child under 16, distributing obscene material to a minor, and driving with a suspended license. His phone was seized as evidence. The arraignment is set on Thursday in Brockton District Court, as reported by Boston 25 News.
