Tragedy struck a quiet neighborhood in Edmond, Oklahoma, when a homicide investigation commenced following a reported home invasion that led to one man's death, as confirmed by the Edmond Police Department (EPD). The incident occurred on the 1700 block of Pinnacle Lane, near West Danforth Road and North Santa Fe Avenue, around 10:40 a.m. Saturday, reported KOCO.

Upon arrival at the scene, Edmond Police Department officers discovered an adult male victim who had succumbed to gunshot wounds, another male was also found to be assaulted with non-life-threatening injuries and a female who was present during the harrowing event was left unharmed, this according to updates from OKCFOX and KOCO. The investigation has revealed that there was a break-in involving two suspects, who are currently still at large, resulting in the fatality of the male victim whose identity has yet to be released by authorities.

As the neighborhood grapples with shock and fear, information from the Edmond Police Department suggests that the suspects are two males who fled the scene, and although the investigation is still in its early stages no arrests have been made so far police believe the incident to be isolated. The community which is not accustomed to such violent episodes has been rattled, with neighbor Rachel Bishop expressing her distress, "I live in North Edmond to avoid all the chaos and things like that. For this to be that close to home is really scary at this point," she told News 9.

The Edmond Police Department has not yet released any details about the suspects or the possible motive behind the break-in and homicide. They are still searching for those responsible.
