
A tragic blaze in New Chicago, Indiana claimed the life of an elderly woman. According to ABC7 Chicago, the fire occurred at a residence on 425 McKinley Avenue around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters faced challenges entering the home due to the intensity of the flames. Once inside, they found the woman, who was quickly transported to Saint Mary's Hospital in Hobart but did not survive.
As the house was fully engulfed, New Chicago firefighters, who had trouble accessing the house, swiftly arrived at the scene. The victim was discovered inside, and despite the efforts of first responders, the fire's wrath had not spared her.
