
Everett Police have apprehended a man connected to the stabbing of a 13-year-old student near North Middle School earlier this month. The violent incident that left the teenager injured occurred on the morning of January 16 as the student was on their way to class, according to KING5.
The suspect, whose identity was later circulated by authorities, including through social media, was arrested following a tip from a member of the community, leading to a non-confrontational arrest yesterday, as detailed in a news release from the Everett police and reported by The Seattle Times. He is currently being held at the Snohomish County Jail, facing charges for first-degree assault and an alleged parole violation, he is also facing additional scrutiny owing to a history of criminal behavior including multiple convictions.
Praising the community's crucial role in the apprehension, Everett Police Chief John DeRousse expressed his gratitude, "We cannot thank the public enough for their assistance in this investigation," as obtained through an interview by FOX13 Seattle. The suspect has a record of past convictions including second-degree robbery in 2022 and third-degree assault in 2023, along with misdemeanors in Everett related to graffiti.
