
A confrontation in Lauderhill has left a woman hospitalized after she was shot yesterday. The incident occurred on Northwest 54th Avenue around 7 p.m. Lauderhill police reported that a group of teenagers arrived on the scene, supposedly with the intent to confront residents already present, according to Local 10.
During the altercation, a firearm was discharged, hitting the woman, who was then transported to a nearby hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. The investigation remains active, as authorities seek to determine the individual responsible for firing the gun and to understand the motive behind the shooting. "Someone pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking a woman," a police statement noted, as per Local10.
Witnesses described the assailants as a group of kids. A relative of the victim informed NBC Miami that the group came to their home and initiated an argument. The situation reportedly escalated from there, culminating in the shooting. The group dispersed before police arrived, and as of now, no arrests have been made nor suspects identified.
