Two crews from the Streets Division worked on much-needed repairs on NW 12th Street in Lawton. North of Cache Road, the teams focused on laying the foundation for a smoother commute with concrete and rebar. The first crew worked at the intersection of 12th Street and Baldwin Avenue, where they prepared the area for a concrete pour yesterday, according to the City of Lawton website.
At the same time, a pavement removal took place at the intersection of 12th Street and Kingsbury Avenue. Once the Baldwin site is finished, Kingsbury will be next to undergo reconstruction. The street damage was first reported by citizens earlier this month through the iHelpLawton portal.
The City of Lawton has emphasized its commitment to infrastructure improvement. "Every day, city workers strive to enhance public safety and ensure residents can enjoy smoother, safer roads," according to the city's announcement.
