Tragedy struck Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood late Thursday night when a gunman, still at large, fatally shot a man driving down the 1200 block of South Sawyer Avenue. According to a report from Chicago Sun-Times, the victim was identified as 35-year-old Tyrone Booker, a resident of the very block where the shooting occurred.

While running for his life after being shot, Booker crashed into two parked vehicles. The incident, occurring around 11:40 p.m. Booker was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was declared dead shortly after midnight, as confirmed by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
