
On Thursday, a stabbing occurred during a basketball game at Boston Preparatory Charter Public School in Hyde Park, leaving one man with non-life-threatening injuries. Boston Police responded around 7:30 p.m., and the victim was taken to the hospital. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, as stated by WCVB.
Following the incident, Boston Preparatory Charter Public School officials confirmed there was no immediate threat to the community. Executive Director Dr. Meekerley Sanon issued a statement explaining that the stabbing occurred after an altercation during a boys' basketball game. "There was an altercation during a boy's basketball game, which resulted in a hospitalization." Dr. Sanon said. He assured that the school had been secured and that scheduled classes would continue the next day, as reported by Boston 25 News.
Following a stabbing at Boston Prep, the school is increasing police presence and providing counseling support for those affected. Dr. Sanon stated, "Incidents such as this are traumatic for all involved and we will be offering support to all who have been affected by this incident."
