The San Diego Police Department, through an email news release, reported that the incident occurred at approximately 6:14 AM on 519 9th Avenue in the East Village neighborhood. According to SDPD Watch Commander Officer D. O'Brien, after the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene, however, the victim's injury was deemed non life-threatening by medical personnel and he was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. The police later apprehended the assailant at 1245 Market Street, where he was identified as Brian Seo, born on September 25, 1969, the suspect was booked into San Diego Central Jail, and charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
