Two brothers from Massachusetts, Suzito Lopes, 43, of Quincy, and Antonio Lopes, 37, of Taunton, have been arrested in connection with the death of 43-year-old Anthony Leverone. Leverone was found dead in an Abington backyard in late December, leading to the arrests, as reported by NBC Boston.
The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office confirmed that first responders found Leverone's body on December 27, 2024, during a wellbeing check. Authorities previously stated the incident did not appear to be a random act of violence. Suzito was arrested in Brockton, while Antonio turned himself in to police in Abington, according to NBC Boston.
A wellbeing check at 7:25 p.m. on Plymouth St. near the Baseball Field led to finding Leverone dead outdoors. Through an investigation, detectives "developed probable cause and sought and obtained arrest warrants for two men in connection with the crime," said the district attorney’s office. The brothers are expected to be arraigned in Brockton District Court, though charges and details about Leverone's death are still unclear. The investigation is ongoing, as stated by WHDH.
