A high-speed chase resulting from a narcotics investigation in Miami-Dade County last night led to multiple vehicles damaged and a police canine injured. According to Local 10, the pursuit began around 9:55 p.m. and concluded on the Dolphin Expressway near Northwest 12th Avenue.

During the incident, as reported by officials, fleeing the scene after striking a Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office detective, the suspect collided with several vehicles, including three Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) vehicles. One of the implicated vehicles was a K-9 unit which held a police dog that sustained injuries. The injured K-9 was subsequently hurried to an emergency vet hospital, and the deputies gathered without providing any updates on its condition.

The individual at the heart of the chase, identified only as an adult male suspect, is now in custody. NBC Miami noted that the chase involved a white SUV, and the subsequent crash did not result in injuries to any pedestrians or persons other than the K-9.

While the condition of the K-9 remains unknown, no other injuries were reported during the chaotic sequence that unfolded. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s office has not yet released details regarding the suspect’s identity or the charges he will face.
