A Southwest Miami-Dade family is grappling with the disappearance of their French bulldog, Lola, who they say was stolen from their property. In what amounted to mere moments of inattention, the dog's owner, Jennifer Perez, has been left heartbroken, describing Lola as "super friendly, she’s a snuggle bunny, she’s just an all-around great dog," in a statement obtained by 7News.

The distressing event occurred after Perez's husband momentarily stepped away to take out the trash, during which time he noticed a black sedan behaving suspiciously, it was parked at the front of their home, on Southwest 120th Avenue and 240th Street, but as he approached to investigate it quickly sped off – the family soon realized that Lola was gone. The family, who had only adopted Lola five months prior after finding her in a dire condition, had grown deeply attached, "We didn’t really plan to keep her," Perez told Miami Daily Life.

"If you would have seen the condition that she was in when we rescued her, you would realize that there is a big problem, not just in Miami but throughout the nation, with French bulldogs being used for breeding," Perez explained to Miami Daily Life., highlighting a grim reality that plagues these popular dogs. In efforts to recover their missing pet, the Perez family is offering a reward for information leading to her safe return and has asked anyone with information to contact Miami-Dade Police at 305-476-5423.
