
A motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident involving a car on Riverside Drive and McClure Street in Clarksville. The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) confirmed the crash and said northbound traffic had been closed due to the investigation, as reported by ClarksvilleNow.
The injured motorcyclist, identified as Nicholas Azevedo, was airlifted to TriStar Skyline Medical Center and is reportedly in stable condition. Flown from the scene of the accident, the CPD is urging anyone with video footage of the crash to step forward and aid the ongoing investigation. According to a CPD statement obtained by Clarksville Online, the public is asked "to find alternate routes or be prepared for long delays."
The wreck, which occurred between a motorcycle and a sedan, ultimately led to Riverside Drive being temporarily shut to northbound traffic. The closure affected numerous commuters. As reported by WSMV, the road has since been reopened, and traffic resumed its regular flow later the same evening.
Emergency services, including Montgomery County EMS, Clarksville Fire Rescue, and Austin Peay State University Police, responded to the incident.
