A tragic event unfolded on the Edens Expressway in Northfield early Tuesday when a motorist died after colliding with a concrete barrier. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the Illinois State Police responded to the incident, which occurred around 7:10 a.m. along Interstate 94, just north of Winnetka Road.
The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was swiftly transported to a local hospital following the accident, where they were pronounced dead, as detailed by the Chicago Sun-Times. There were no reports of lane closures, and state police have not disclosed the cause of the crash.
According to ABC7 Chicago, no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the ISP has yet to release further details.
